Kitchen Remodeler Playbook is an independent publication for people who own kitchen remodeling companies and design-build firms. Most marketing advice for contractors is written for emergency trades, and a kitchen is not an emergency. Homeowners browse Houzz for three months, ask a neighbor, read 30 reviews and then book a consultation. The advice here is built around that buying pattern.

Who writes it

Steven Von is the editor. He has spent years running growth campaigns for local service businesses, kitchen remodeling and design-build firms among them, and has watched enough showroom owners sign twelve-month agency contracts on a promise to decide that the promise should come after the proof. Every guide here is written to be checked against your own numbers.

Where the benchmark numbers come from

The benchmark report is built from public Google Business Profile listings. Each month we search Google Maps for kitchen remodelers in every US state, collect the public fields on each listing (review count, star rating, website link, hours, category, city), remove duplicates by place, and compute the statistics shown. Nothing comes from behind a login and no personal data is stored. The dataset currently holds 9,352 listings across 51 states. At that scale a few listings are miscategorized or stale, so read every figure as accurate to within a point or two.

One thing the data makes plain for this trade: 81.7% of kitchen remodelers already have a website, far more than most home-service categories. The separation is in reviews, where the median is 9 and only 4.5% have passed 100.

Editorial rules

  • No pay-to-play. Cabinet lines, software vendors and lead platforms cannot buy a mention, a ranking or a recommendation here.
  • Every number is sourced to our dataset or to a primary source such as Google's own help pages. Where a figure is an estimate from campaign experience, it is given as a range and labeled as one.
  • Guides are written for an owner who is also the lead designer and the estimator. If a step cannot be done in an evening or handed to an office manager, it is left out.
  • When Google, Meta or Houzz change something that affects remodelers, the guide is updated and the update is dated.

How the free trial works

The site is paid for by the marketing work we do for kitchen remodeling companies. Every service is offered as a free 14-day trial because an owner who sells $40,000 projects should see consultation requests come in before paying anyone to produce them. You text or call, say which service you want to try (Google Ads, Meta ads, AI search optimization, local SEO, a website, social media, reviews, missed-call text-back, email and SMS, bookkeeping, or appointment setting), and we set it up inside your own accounts, usually within two business days. It runs for 14 days. No card is taken and nothing renews on its own. At the end you keep it at a price quoted up front, switch to a different service, or stop and keep whatever was built.

Text or call (385) 832-7231, or use the free trial page.

Try any marketing service free for 14 days.

Pick anything we do. We run it for your kitchen remodeling company for two full weeks at no cost, then you decide. No card, no contract, nothing to cancel.
